Lindsey Lambert of Courtice and Jaret Bull from North Bay are the recipients of the prestigious Wes Graham Cup for 2011. The Wes Graham Cup is awarded annually to the female and male athletes under age 21 who have shown the greatest improvement and consistency in their average Traditional (three event) scores from one year to the next.
Lindsey Lambert had an amazing year in her first season competing in the Girls 2 division. Her average slalom scores nearly doubled, while her average trick scores were almost triple from 2010. She capped her 2011 season with bronze and silver medals at the National's in slalom and trick respectively, and was named to Canada's Can Am team.
Jaret Bull continued his superlative career in slalom, improving his average slalom scores by almost 3 ½ buoys over 2011. Jaret was the Jr. Men's gold medalist at Nationals and is ranked fourth on the IWWF under 17 Men world ranking list.
"We congratulate Lindsey and Jaret for their sensational 2011 performances," said WSWO Traditional V.P. Steph Collins. "Their hard work and commitment is an inspiration and we are very proud of their accomplishments."
The Wes Graham Cup, formerly known as the Hallmark Cup, is named after WSWO legend Wes Graham who dedicated much of his life to developing competitive water skiing in Ontario.
