Normally when you go to a tournament the "specialists" reign supreme. Saturday Sept 11 at Summerski is your chance to shine as an all-around skier/barefooter/wakeboarder!!! If registration is large then we will extend into Sunday Sept 12 as well!
So how is this going to work you ask? All 3 disciplines (traditional, barefoot, wakeboard) will be scored and submitted to WSWC for ratings. This event also counts towards the Traditional Season Tour Championships. There will be a Novice tournament for those that have NEVER competed at a tournament in any discipline. Those that have competed in the past will be in the Competitive tournament. Traditional will include slalom, trick and jump events. Barefoot will include slalom and trick events. Wakeboard will be an expression session. There will be an overall style-scoring scheme used so that each event can score a possible 1000 points. You take your best traditional event score, your best barefoot event score and your wakeboard event score and combine them for your total score. To compete for bragging rights as best all-around; you MUST score in at least one event in all three disciplines!
Cost will be $10 per event. And you must be a WSWO member, click here to register for an Active Single membership if you still have not done so this year. So if you want to slalom and jump in traditional, slalom and trick in barefoot and wakeboard your entry will be $50. If you just want to slalom in traditional, trick in barefoot and wakeboard then your entry will only be $30. If you want to maximize your chances and slalom, trick and jump in traditional, slalom and trick in barefoot and wakeboard then it will be $60... If you are a specialist and want to just do a traditional slalom event that's fine too, $10 entry fee, but you won't be taking home the all-around bragging rights! Additional rounds at $10 each, time permitting.
For the Novice tournament you can compete in traditional slalom (4 passes in the slalom course), barefoot tricks (on the boom) and wakeboard.
The event boats are Malibu Wakesetter (wakeboard) and Malibu Response (traditional) provided by Summerski and Malibu Flightcraft (barefoot) provided by Spinners Watersports. Starting at 8:00 a.m. for barefoot, followed by traditional and wakeboard.
Come and compete, come and watch, come and cheer on everyone. There will be an on site BBQ lunch for a nominal fee.
