This year the 2010 Canadian Water Ski & Wakeboard Instructors' Course (CWSIC) took place on June 18th - 21st at Hockey Opportunity Camp in Sundridge ON, and successfully completed another year of certifying a total of 65 new watersports Instructors.
Among these 65 instructors, four individuals were recognized at the end of the course for their outstanding efforts during their entire stay at the CWSIC.
Andrew Dawson was awarded the title of "Top Gun" for achieving the highest score on his boat-driving exam, with 99% accuracy. Steph Kelly received the title of "Best Orals" for achieving a perfect score on all four oral examinations in Beginner 1-Ski, Beginner 2-Ski, Beginner Wakeboard and Beginner Barefoot. Rebecca Miller was awarded the title of "Most Improved" for being recognized as the individual who showed the most improvement in her boat driving skills over the course of the weekend. Lastly, Jeremy Jobin (shown in above picture with CWSIC Course Conductor / WSWO President, David Brandstetter) was awarded the "Cathy Huggins Award" for portraying the most potential as a watersports coach, and for being the most memorable, enthusiastic and positive student during the entire course. The "Cathy Huggins Award" is recognized annually at the CWSIC, in memory of Cathy Huggins who was seen as the ideal instructor, who sadly passed away several years ago.
It is safe to say that the 2010 Canadian Water Ski & Wakeboard Instructors Course was a true success, and an unforgettable experience. Thank you to everyone who made this course possible, and congratulations on another successful year Instructors!!
