The best Wakeboarders meet outside Toronto for the National Championship
TORONTO, ONTARIO) - Some of the biggest names in the wakeboard world will ride into Peterborough for the 2009 Coors Light Canadian Wakeboard Championships.
Beavermead Park on Little Lake in Peterborough, Ont. will feature Canada's pro riders from August 27 to 30- just 60 minutes outside of Toronto.
Sponsored by Coors Light, the event is set to bring over two hundred competitors along with family and friends. Organizers of the event feel that Peterborough is a perfect place to host nationals and have high hopes to draw a large crowd. Brad Conlin, Co-chair of the event says, "We are looking to get about 10 000 spectators and 150-200 participants. We hope to showcase not just talent, but what Peterborough has to offer in terms of nightlife and entertainment."
Peterborough Mayor Paul Ayotte is looking forward to the event. "I am pleased to welcome participants and spectators to Peterborough to take part in the 2009 Wakeboard Championships. Peterborough is a very welcoming community, and I am confident everyone will enjoy our hospitality and the wealth of amenities our community has to offer," stated Mayor Ayotte.
The four-day event will feature amateur and pro wakeboarding, wake skating and slider competitions, freestyle motor cross shows and a beach winch session. Live bands will perform during these events, accompanied by a Coors Light beer garden and local food vendors.
