Position Summary:
Wakeboard Instructors are responsible for providing wakeboard lessons and instruction to our guests. They ensure guest safety at all times and provide a positive guest experience.

Watersports Instructors Wanted

Position Summary:
As a Watersports Instructor you will be required to assist guests in lessons/private clinics/ wakeboarding, wake surfing, and water skiing. The majority of your time will be spent in Nautique ski boats, while the remainder of your time may be spent assisting dock staff and/or conducting private cottage clinics and supporting the activities in our Pro Shop. We are looking for experience, professionalism and enthusiasm for all members of our team.
Key Responsibilities and Tasks:
● To be well presented with a professional attitude at all times
● To maintain an excellent standard of customer service
● Deliver watersports instruction and operate boats safely following the principles learned in WSWO’s Foundations Course.
● Assist in the preparation, organization, delivery and the running of activities for all guests both on and off the water
● Actively plan and prepare suitable sessions based on experience and ability for children & adults participating in lessons & clinics
● To ensure the highest standard of health and safety is adhered to and that guests are advised on the practical/safe use of all equipment
● To take personal responsibility for the maintenance, repair and security of all Bush’s equipment
● To ensure that the appearance of the Pro Shop, the Equipment Storage Center and overall property always meets guest expectations
● The ability to work well, both independently and as part of the team
● To be flexible and agile in your job role and willing to assist in all other duties as requested by your manager
● As the first point of guest contact, you’ll be confident to consistently deliver excellent, personable, informative and efficient airport transfers both to and from the resort
● Ensuring all COVID-19 Protocols and Procedures are followed to the letter.

Head Watersports Instructor / Watersports Instructor
Position Summary:
As Watersports Instructor you will be required to assist guests in lessons/private clinics/runs for tubing, wakeboarding, wake surfing, and water skiing. The majority of your time will be spent executing these runs in a brand new Mastercraft, while the remainder of your time may be spent assisting dock staff and/or conducting private charters for guests in our touring boats. We are looking for experience, professionalism and enthusiasm for all members of our team.
Located on the shores of beautiful Lake Rosseau in Muskoka, the JW Marriott The Rosseau Resort offers its guests an exquisite and authentic premier Muskoka environment. SOAR Management provides the resort with all of its waterfront management and program needs.
Terms of Employment:
Seasonal May - October 2020 (Core season is July - Labour Day, as such both university and high school students will be accommodated within this time frame). This position requires your ability to work on a varied schedule that will include evenings, nights and weekends. Full time and part time hours are available.

Overnight Camp Summer Staff – Waterski Instructor

Camp Oochigeas is a privately funded organization that provides children with cancer and children affected by childhood cancer with a unique opportunity for growth through challenging, fun, enriching and magical experiences.
Position Summary:
Oochigeas is a volunteer based program, and the following position is one of a core team of paid summer staff. In addition to facilitating the designated program area, it is the responsibility of the all-summer staff to actively support and provide resources to our over 500 volunteers throughout the summer.
Chosen applicants will work with co-instructors and sessional volunteers to provide our campers with a valuable waterski, wakeboard, and wake surf experience.

Specific Accountabilities:
1. Planning (5%):
a) Monitor and report on the achievement of Overnight Program plans and Waterski Program plans.
2. Programming and Facilitating (70%):
a) Plan and facilitate a safe and participant focused waterski and wakeboarding program for campers aged 6-18
b) Maintain equipment, track inventory, and report on needs for program growth
c) Build out program curriculum and prepare program plans for summer and for future program use.
d) Evaluate and improve program throughout the summer and at the end of summer to make suggestions for future program development.
e) Adapt and adjust curriculum and activities from session to session based on feedback and experiences
f) Ensure that camp programs incorporate Ooch values and traditions
3. Volunteer and Camper Support (20%):
a) Assist in facilitation of on-site volunteer trainings
b) Coach and support volunteers in planning, prepping, and execution of camp wide programs, theme, and other activities
c) Support, coach, and lead volunteers in achieving safe, fun, and engaging waterski programs.
d) Assist volunteers in providing general support and supervision to campers
e) Attend and participate in various program areas, staff meetings, and socials as required
f) Participate in risk management and Overnight Camp emergency procedures
g) Support with summer bus programs and bus chaperoning as needed
4. Communication and Administration (5%):
a) Write end of summer report to evaluate activity area
b) Complete any necessary expense reporting and collection of receipts

Role Description:
The Cable Coordinator will work at Kid and Youth Day Camps, with campers between the ages of 7-17. They will be responsible for daily site set up and clean up to make sure all daily activities are organised. The Coordinator will meet & greet parents at the start of each camp day during drop off and at the end for camper pick up. The Coordinator will also have the responsibility of creating and running various team building activities, beach and water games,
and the craft centre. The Coordinator will be supervising campers on an ongoing basis throughout their camp experiences.
The Coordinator will also be in charge of these same activities for our not-for-profit ride day, for underprivileged youth. The Coordinator will be an integral resource during these activities as they will build relationships and trust with these youth to help them overcome their fears in moving out of their comfort zone as they try a new sport and learn new physical and leadership skills.

Role Description:
The Cable instructor will supervise, direct and oversee the instruction and experience of all participants while wakeboarding at all 2019 Cable Camp Programs. They will be responsible for managing all risk and ensuring the operation of a safe program. Collaborate with team members to provide fun and safe experience that engages all campers to grow in the sport. Oversee the care and use of the facilities and grounds of the cable park.
The Cable Instructor will also help run components of the Provincial Wakeboard, Surfing and Wakeskate Competition hosted by Wake Hui. Their responsibilities will be supporting with competitor registration, coordinating vendor setup and organising competitors for the contest.

Role Description:
The Operator/Instructor is responsible for instructing each guest on the proper way to wakeboard or wakeskate and to hit each of the wake park features, adhering to company safety policies, proven techniques while proving the highest level of customer service. The operator is also responsible for ensuring all guests are fitted with the appropriate gear and/or ensuring that all guests personal gear meet the requirements of the park for the sporting activity.
Duties include providing guest safety and maintaining a safe and clean wake park by effectively managing equipment and grounds. Depending on the shift, the Operator will be responsible for turning on and referencing the cable system and/or shutting off the cable system at the end of the park hours. The operator must enforce all park rules and regulations, while maintaining guest satisfaction.
Operator must keep track of booking times and ensure that guest’s sets take place at the reserved time. Guests should be checked in with in a timely manner and a positive relationship fostered to understand rider needs/goals and to make them feel comfortable in the wake park environment.
