Ski-Mazing Watersports School & Parasailing, located in cottage country in Haliburton, Ontario is looking for skilled, outgoing, and enthusiastic watersports instructors to work in our growing watersports school. Ski-Mazing Watersports School is a full service ski school offering “Skills and Thrills” in all watersports disciplines, while specializing in wakeboarding, waterskiing and barefooting. We provide day camp programs for kids, private and group lessons, jet ski rentals, winchboat parasailing, and hydroflight rides using Flyboard and Jetovator. Camp Oochigeas is a privately funded, volunteer based organization that provides children with cancer and children affected by childhood cancer with a unique opportunity for growth through challenging, fun, enriching and magical experiences.
Oochigeas is a volunteer based program and the following position is one of a team of paid staff. In addition to facilitating the designated program area, it is the responsibility of the summer staff to actively support and provide resources to over 400 volunteers throughout the summer.
Chosen applicants will work with co-instructors and sessional volunteers to provide our campers with a valuable waterski experience.
Position Specific Responsibilities include:
Managing all risk and ensuring the operation of a safe program
Supervising, directing and overseeing the instruction and experience of all participants (campers and staff)
Facilitating and Instructing waterskiing, knee boarding, wakeboarding, and tubing
Supporting volunteer co-instructors
Oversee the care and use of the Camp’s ski boat
Volunteer Support Responsibilities Include:
Assisting in facilitation of on-site volunteer trainings
Assist in the planning, prepping, and execution of volunteer based programs
(i.e. evening programs)
Evening duties to support cabin counsellor teams
Attend and participate in various program areas, staff meetings, and socials as required
Holds a valid Pleasure Craft Operators License, and has experience with towing someone behind a boat
Hold a current Bronze Cross Lifeguarding Certification, NLS preferred (or equivalent)
Is an experienced and confident driver who holds a valid Driver’s License
Current CWSIC Instructors Course Certification (preferable). Training will be provided to right applicant
