Position: Camp Counsellor/ Boating Activity Staff

Location: Camp Winston - Muskoka, Ontario – On beautiful Sparrow Lake

Dates of Employment: June 11th to August 24th, 2016

Beginning Salary: $3000 (Room and Board included)

Camp Winston operates a residential recreational summer camp for children with complex neurological disorders such as Tourette Syndrome, Attention Deficit (Hyperactivity) Disorder, Learning Disabilities, Oppositional Defiant Disorder, Obsessive Compulsive Disorder and/or other Anxiety Disorders and Autism Spectrum Disorders.

Our caring staff provides physical and emotional safety in a residential camp setting to allow campers to learn and have fun!

We are looking for a Boating Activity Staff. This individual will drive the boat and instruct campers and counsellors on boat safety, tubing, waterskiing, wakeboarding, and knee boarding. Activity Staff will also serve as counsellors when not running their activity.

Previous experience working with children and/or individuals with special needs, working in a camp setting and having some post-secondary education are assets.

Applicants must be NLS certified, if you require certification or recertification, we will reimburse certification costs at the end of the work term.

Additional assets include experience or qualification in the following: swimming, sailing, canoeing, ropes course/climbing, arts and crafts, drama, sports, nature, camping, wakeboarding/waterskiing.

Camp Winston staff members are usually college and/or university students and professional, mature adults, from a variety of fields that include: education, social work, psychology, recreation, child and youth work, and health care.

Camp Winston staff members are committed to helping campers discover and develop their strengths, abilities and talents while teaching essential social and life skills.
